Dear Brisson Family,

I first met Izzy at the start of her time at Queen's, as one of her frosh leaders. On the first day she was shy - as all are, looking to find footing in a new home at school. By weeks end, she bloomed into the cheerful, enthusiastic person we all grew to love. We awarded her as the "Evolution" frosh, for how quickly she embraced the spirit of the Queen's community. It warmed our hearts endlessly to watch her grow with that same group of friends, each cheerful cross-campus wave affirming that she'd made a second home. Thank you for Izzy, and I extend my deepest condolences for your loss.

Sincerely,
Andrew

Dear Janice, Roger, and family,
What a lovely service today. I have not seen Isabelle since she was a little girl, and now I feel as though I know what kind of beautiful, caring, fun loving young lady she grew up to be. May all of your memories give you comfort during this sad time.

Janice, you still have the same irrepressible spirit and spark, I knew as a teenager -- even in your deep grief and I see that same spirit in your precious Isabelle! What an extraordinary human being!! She lived more completely, in her 23 years, than many do in 80 years!! I was crying before the service even started but everything about that service left me with a sense of hope and joyfulness. Even in Roger's brokenness, there was beauty in a father's love and that you lived life fully and with no regrets. May God give you the special grace that He gives when tragedy visits us. May His presence be very real to you even as Isabelle is now absent from you but present with Him. Hugs.

Thank you so much for sharing this celebration of life with Izzy’s many communities. I met Izzy on my floor in first year at Queen’s. Izzy was so kind, hard working, and excited to try new things and share them with those around her. I appreciated knowing her, and seeing her around campus, so much. My condolences for your loss.

To Izzy's Family,
I had the pleasure of knowing Izzy at Queen's and I would like to share one of my fondest memories of her. A bunch of us took a Jazz dance class every Friday afternoon. We would all arrive after taking an afternoon nap or finishing a last minute assignment and in would walk Izzy with the biggest smile on her face. Every week she walked all the way across town from her shift at the soup kitchen to our dance class where her beautiful smile and laugh would infect us all. I was always so amazed by her willingness to help others before herself. She taught me how to pirouette and she will forever be remembered by me as the ultimate dancing queen.

As part of the tree planting community as well I want to send my sincerest condolences, Izzy was a bright light to everyone who had the chance to meet her and share her love of nature and trees.

Dear Janice, Roger, Nichole and Daniel
It was a beautiful and touching ceremony in memory of Isabelle today, even through the computer screen. It made me appreciate the time I spent not so long ago talking to her about her engineering career and her interests. Such a loss for the profession too. If Shelley, Eva, Gavin and I can be of help to you and your family in the time ahead, don't hesitate to reach out.
Love, Steve

Dear Brisson Family,

Izzy was a joyous and sunny soul. I had the pleasure of being her friend and dance teacher while at Queen’s. She brought such an amazing and enthusiastic energy to each dance class and I looked forward to every class because of this. Izzy came to class dedicated to learn. She had practiced the material before class and was never shy of trying anything new I threw at her. Other friends of ours who took the class would sometimes goof around but Izzy always helped me keep them on task, and would take the time to help others if they were falling behind. Having a helping hand in class is something I valued greatly. Outside of dance class, she was a bundle of fun. She would show up to any gathering with the best outfits (she had the most amazing shoe collection ever!!) and a positive energy. She was the light of any room she was in however she never made anyone feel out of place. She would go out of her way to talk to those she had not yet met and would make sure to say hi to everyone she saw. She was so unique and was proud of that. I can confidently say I will never meet anyone like Izzy. She will be missed but she will live on forever in our hearts.

Dear Brisson Family,

I had the pleasure of getting to know Izzy of the course of my time at Queen's through our shared group of friends. Izzy was always guaranteed to bring optimism, kindness and laughter to time spent together. I have fond memories of paddleboarding with her last summer in Vancouver in celebration of my birthday, and attending her going away party as she wrapped up her internship and returned to Queen's for her final semester. We will all deeply miss the bright light that she brought to the world- I am so thankful to have known her. My thoughts are with you.
